The 1962 Corvette Convertible marked the end for several elements that had been closely associated with the Corvette. The curved windshield and solid rear axle disappeared. The soft top convertible-only style was no longer the only option for buyers and the trunk lid and exposed headlights disappeared for decades, but made an occasional appearance in later years. Changes in the engine design made the 1962 Corvette Convertible was the faster than previous corvettes. The only thing faster than the 1962 Corvette Convertible is the speed at which they sell. These dramatic changes made to the car seem to only increase its appeal with classic car buyers. Models of the 1962 Corvette Convertible in mint or great condition are still available today, much to the delight of classic car devotees. |
