The 1954 version of the Corvette Convertible made the car accessible to a much wider audience. Over 3,000 1954 Corvette Convertibles were produced. New colors were introduced to update the design, but overall the outside design remained close to the original 1953 Corvette. This increase in production makes it slightly easier for car collectors to acquire.

The 1954 Corvette Convertible did not set any sales records at the time and came close to being discontinued. The introduction of the sporty Ford Thunderbird motivated Chevrolet to keep producing Corvettes to stay competitive in the sports care arena. Today antique soft top convertibles in decent or preferably mint condition have no problems finding buyers willing to spend top dollar.
